What's in this collection

  • Serving baskets – plastic oval and round baskets from TableCraft and G.E.T., plus woven, wire and wicker bread baskets for burgers, sandwiches and bread service.
  • Fry cups and mini fry baskets – American Metalcraft stainless cones, angled cups and mini fry baskets for fries, onion rings and chips.
  • Taco holders – stainless and melamine racks with 1 to 3 sections that keep tacos upright from pass to table.
  • Tortilla servers – insulated, hinged Carlisle servers and tortilla keepers that hold warmth at the table.
  • Cast iron and presentation servers – Lodge and Browne cast iron minis and Churchill presentation pans for sizzling sides, skillet dips and mac and cheese.
  • Serving tubs, pails and pots – galvanized tubs, pails and a lidded mussel server for buckets of wings, shrimp or mussels.

What to consider when choosing side dish holders

  • Liners – plastic and wire baskets are normally lined with deli or basket paper; size the basket to standard liner sheets.
  • Heat – cast iron servers get very hot and need an underliner or wooden base at the table; plastic baskets are for room-temperature presentation only.
  • Portion fit – match fry cup capacity (for example 12 to 14 oz) to your portion so the cup looks full.
  • Cleaning – stainless and plastic go through the dish machine; cast iron needs hand washing and re-seasoning; woven baskets are best lined and wiped.
  • Brand look – coloured baskets and galvanized pails suit pubs and diners; slate, cast iron and white porcelain suit upscale casual.

Frequently asked questions

Do serving baskets need liners?

Yes, in most operations. Basket liners or deli paper absorb grease, speed up cleaning and keep food from touching the basket directly.

Can cast iron servers go in a dishwasher?

No. Wash cast iron by hand, dry it straight away and wipe it with a thin coat of oil to protect the seasoning.

How many sections should a taco holder have?

Match it to your plate count: two- or three-taco plates are most common, and several holders here can be used for either 2 or 3 tacos.
