Collection: Undercounter Refrigerators & Freezers

29 products

Undercounter refrigerators and freezers put cold storage right at the station, under a counter or prep surface, so cooks and bartenders can grab what they need without walking to the walk-in. This collection includes solid-door and drawered refrigerators, undercounter freezers, compact units and bar-height refrigerators from True, Hoshizaki and EFI, including Hoshizaki Economy Series models.

Models range from compact 15" units like the Hoshizaki HR15A to 72–93" multi-door counters. Browse the wider Refrigeration, Freezing & Ice Equipment section for uprights, prep tables and ice.

Types of undercounter refrigeration

  • Solid-door undercounter refrigerators: True TUC-24-HC, TUC-48-HC and EFI CUDR models for line-side cold storage.
  • Undercounter freezers: True TUC-60F-HC, Hoshizaki UF27B and EUF48A, and EFI FUDR models for frozen items at the fryer or dessert station.
  • Drawered refrigerators and freezers: True TUC and TWT drawer models (e.g. TUC-60D-2-HC) and Hoshizaki UR27B-D2 / UR60B-D2 hold hotel pans so cooks can pull ingredients without bending into a cabinet.
  • Worktop-height models: True TWT units have a work surface on top and can double as a prep counter.
  • Bar and back bar refrigerators: True TBR and TBB models fit under bar tops for beer, wine and garnish storage.
  • Compact units: The Hoshizaki HR15A and 24–27" single-door models fit narrow spaces.

What to consider when choosing undercounter refrigeration

  • Height and counter clearance: Check total height including casters. Some listings note caster options (e.g. 2 1/2" casters) or low-profile versions to fit under standard counters.
  • Doors vs drawers: Doors give flexible shelf storage; drawers hold pans in place and are faster to work from on a busy line.
  • Front-breathing ventilation: Units built into counters need to vent from the front. Confirm the ventilation design before boxing a unit in.
  • Width and number of sections: Single-door units run roughly 24–27"; two- and three-door models run 48–93".
  • Refrigerator or freezer: Freezers draw more power and need tighter door seals. Pick by what the station actually holds.
  • Hinge side and finish: Several models come right- or left-hinged and in stainless or black finishes for front-of-house use.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between undercounter and worktop refrigerators?

An undercounter unit slides beneath an existing counter. A worktop unit has its own finished top that serves as a work surface.

Are drawers better than doors?

Drawers are faster on a busy line because pans are held at the front. Doors give more flexible storage for bottles and mixed containers.

Can I install an undercounter unit inside cabinetry?

Only if it is designed to breathe from the front. Rear-venting units need open air around them to run properly.
