Serving trays, tray mats and aprons for bar and floor staff

Bar Serving Supplies covers the gear servers carry and wear: non-slip serving trays, tray mats, and bib, bistro, waist and server aprons. Trays come from Cambro, Service Ideas, Vollrath, Dudson and G.E.T.; aprons from Premium Uniforms, Mercer, Chef Revival and Blackwood.

It sits within Bar Supplies. Use it to outfit bartenders and servers with trays that keep glassware steady and aprons that hold pens, openers and order pads.

What to consider when choosing serving trays and aprons

  • Tray surface – Textured, non-slip surfaces like Camtread hold drinks steady; a smooth tray needs a separate anti-skid mat.
  • Tray size and shape – Round 11–16" trays suit drink service; oval and large rectangular trays carry plated meals.
  • Apron style by role – Bib aprons cover bartenders and barbacks; bistro and waist aprons suit servers; coin aprons keep cash and cards close.
  • Pockets – Count what staff carry – pens, wine keys, order pads, phones – and choose pocket layouts to match.
  • Colour and branding – Pick tray and apron colours that work with your room, and keep a consistent look across shifts.

Frequently asked questions

Why use a non-slip tray for drink service?

A rubberized or textured surface keeps glasses from sliding when servers move through a busy room, reducing spills and breakage.

What size tray is best for cocktail service?

Round 14" and 16" trays are the common choice for carrying drinks; larger ovals are better for food runs.

Bib apron or bistro apron?

Bib aprons protect the chest and are favoured behind the bar; bistro aprons cover from the waist down and are popular with floor staff.

Can I add a non-slip mat to an existing tray?

Yes. Vollrath anti-skid mats sit on top of a smooth tray to hold glassware in place.
