What to consider when choosing window and wall cleaning tools

  • Replaceable rubber: a nicked or hardened blade leaves streaks, so choose squeegees with replaceable rubber and keep spares.

FAQ

Why does my squeegee leave streaks?

Usually the rubber blade is worn, nicked or dirty. Wipe the blade between strokes and replace it when the edge is no longer sharp and straight.

Is a floor squeegee the same as a window squeegee?

No. Floor squeegees use thicker rubber and long handles to move water to drains. Window squeegees use a finer blade to dry glass without streaks.

What should I wash windows with?

Follow the cleaner's label for dilution. Apply with a washer or cloth, then squeegee from top to bottom and wipe the edges with a microfibre cloth.
