Collection: Table Bases

5 products

A table base carries the top, sets the table height and decides whether the table rocks on an uneven floor. This collection covers table bases and the parts that keep them level and dressed, for dining rooms, patios, cafés and banquet spaces.

Currently it features levelling and fitting parts from Valley Metal Fabricators, Steady Eddie, BIOS and Vista Textiles. Pair them with tops and seating from the wider Furniture menu.

What's in this collection

  • Foot levellers – replacement screw-in levellers for stainless (5/16") and cast iron (1/4") bases.
  • Stabilizers and wedges – Steady Eddie and BIOS Table Wedgies for a quick fix under a short foot.
  • Table clips – Vista Textiles Velcro clips for attaching skirting to 1/2" to 3/4" table edges.

What to consider when choosing table bases

  • Height – dining-height bases sit around 28"–30"; bar-height bases around 42".
  • Spread vs. top size – a wider foot spread or a double/T-base is needed for larger and rectangular tops to avoid tipping.
  • Fixed, tilting or self-levelling – tilt-top bases let tables be stored flat against a wall; self-levelling bases adjust to patios and uneven floors.
  • Material – cast iron is heavy and stable indoors; aluminum and coated steel are lighter and suit outdoor use.
  • Leveller thread size – match replacement levellers to the base (1/4" for cast iron, 5/16" for stainless in this range).

FAQ

Why does my table still wobble with a new base?

Most wobble comes from the floor, not the base. Adjust the foot levellers, or use a stabilizer such as Steady Eddie under the short side.

How do I know which leveller fits my base?

Check the thread size. In this range, 1/4" levellers suit cast iron bases and 5/16" levellers suit stainless bases.

What height base do I need?

Use a dining-height base for standard chairs and a bar-height base for bar stools. Measure your seating before ordering.
